The Natural World

While there are many things to be said about the world at large, here will the focus be on, as stated, the so-called Central Continent Lesemtas. As mentioned in the foreword, this is a name derived from the Vaelniersam language that means more literally the "Middle Place," which has more or less been accepted among most cultures of the Continent as an acceptable name for the land mass. Some debate surrounds the alternate theory that the name originally referred to Vaelnier itself, a small nation effectively in the longitudinal middle of the Continent, but this has for the most part subsided.
Geography and Climate
The Continent is decently large relative to the size of the planet it sits upon; the southernmost end is very approximately about a thousand nautical miles from the equator, and then from the northernmost peninsula is a bit more at around 1100 nautical miles to the northern pole.
